A native Floridian, Callahan’s career in the art world began with winning an art college scholarship for his work shown at “Le Moyne Art Gallery”. At Atlanta College of Art he received a B.A. in Illustration, which would later influence the emblematic and narrative nature of his artwork. You may know some of Matt Callahan’s commercial work; the trademarked brush strokes of Channelside’s décor. His murals spread from Splitsville, Stumps Supper Club, Tinatapas, Imax Theatres, to the Tampa Tribune murals flowing through the tunneled entrance as well as the five floors of the parking garage. His work also is found at the Florida Aquarium and various locations all over the Tampa Bay area.
Callahan is the founder of Man Made Murals, a company that prides itself on the diversity of its work, from custom commercial and residential murals, to many styles of faux-painting, logo creation, t-shirt and CD design, to portraits on canvas.
